Boundary Box Turf
A floodlit box-cricket and five-a-side turf carved into a tight urban plot off the bypass.
Problem.
An irregular corner plot had to host a full-size playing surface, spectator seating and parking without wasting a metre. The owner wanted evening footfall, so lighting and drainage had to perform from day one.
Solution.
We planned the field on the diagonal to win maximum run-up, ringed it with a tensioned net cage, and laid a sand-filled artificial turf over a graded soak-pit base so it drains within minutes of rain. A mezzanine café overlooks the play.
Outcome.
Bookings ran near-full within the first season; the drainage detail is now our template for two more turf sites in the region.
